The presidential campaign of former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appears to be backed by more than 5,200 donors who contributed to President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.
An analysis of Haley’s most recent fundraising report filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Feb. 20 by POLITICO revealed this finding. It found that more than 5,200 donors to Biden have backed Haley financially, including 1,600 who gave more than $500,000 in January alone. The report filed with the FEC also listed a total of 123,000 “large-dollar” donors to Haley’s entire campaign.
“In total, Haley’s campaign raised $11.5 million and spent $13.1 million last month, according to the report. That makes January – the month of the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary – her highest-grossing month so far as she emerged as the sole Republican challenger to [former President Donald] Trump,” POLITICO continued. “Her campaign reported having just shy of $13 million in the bank as of Jan. 31, compared to more than $30 million cash on hand reported by Trump’s campaign.”
But according to the National Pulse‘s Jack Montgomery, Haley’s campaign continuing to be bankrolled despite her losses to Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire is worth pointing out. This, he noted, lends credence to Trump’s contention that she is only remaining in the GOP primary race to try and damage her former boss ahead of the November general election. Haley served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump administration.
The former South Carolina governor previously received hundreds of thousands of dollars from LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman. The executive chairman of the corporate networking platform gained notoriety for his visits to Little St. James Island, the former home of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “While I am a staunch supporter of Biden and hope he will win a second term, I also provided financial support to Haley’s super-PAC [because] my first priority is to defeat Trump. The GOP primary is the first of two chances to do so,” Hoffman explained back in December. However, the LinkedIn founder dropped Haley after her defeat in New Hampshire as he realized that she was no longer a viable means of stopping Trump.
The former South Carolina governor’s campaign is also being linked to a dark money group known for donating to Democratic causes. One of Haley’s senior staffers is allegedly the missing link between the presidential candidate and this dark money group.
Trump himself exposed this deception in a Jan. 20 speech days before the Jan. 23 primary in New Hampshire. He even cited a report by the Washington Examiner about this revelation.
The former president asked the crowd: “Haley’s state director in New Hampshire, listen carefully – Tyler Clark. Did anyone ever hear of him?”
“He was a lobbyist for the Sixteen Thirty Fund, which is managed by Arabella Advisors – the largest Democrat dark money network in the country, and considered Public Enemy No. 1. That’s who’s managing her campaign. Does that tell you something, perhaps?”
The DeSantis War Room account on X also posted about the revelation. It wrote: “Haley’s campaign is not only funded by Democrats, it’s run by Democrats too. [Her] New Hampshire director lobbied for dark money giant that helped Biden win [the rigged] 2020 election.”
